Ag PhD Field Day July 28th

By Brian Hefty Apr 17, 2016

We invite you to attend the Ag PhD Field Day on our farm near Baltic, SD on Thursday, July 28th!  We are located just 15 minutes from the Sioux Falls airport, and less than 10 miles from both Interstate 90 and Interstate 29.

This will be our largest event ever, with more to see and do than any Field Day we’ve had in the past.  Even if you just joined us for last year’s Field Day, you will see many improvements and additions this year including another air conditioned, large shop that will host guest speakers and our noon meal.  We will have more high-yield farmer panels and speaking tents, and we will have several of these farmers with plots on our farm right next to Darren and my plots of corn, soybeans, and wheat.  We will also have more demonstrations, live equipment showcases, and several other research and educational plots.

We encourage you to attend farm shows each summer, as they are excellent.  What we do is quite different, and hopefully you will find it to be the best day spent during your summer schedule.  That’s our goal.  Darren and I will lead you through our research plots beginning right away at 8 a.m. that morning.  We will have great guest speakers during an awesome lunch, educational sessions during the day, a live Ag PhD Radio Show, a chance to interact with some of the top people from the biggest ag companies in the country, as well as the chance to talk to farmers from all over the world.  Last year’s event drew nearly 10,000 farmers from 38 states and 8 foreign countries.  If you’ve never been to South Dakota in the middle of the summer, our climate is usually much drier and more mild than many other areas, with highs typically around 85 and lows around 60.  As always, I’m praying for perfect weather the day of our event.

Please keep an eye on www.agphd.com for more details, including hotel and camping options.  We encourage you to book your hotel early as last year every hotel in Sioux Falls (10 miles from our farm), got booked up a couple weeks in advance, meaning some people had to stay a little farther away.  If you have any questions about the day, please let us know.  We are working hard to make sure that your investment of time at our event will be well worth it for you.
